The Vaccination Hub is one the latest hospitals set up to provide vaccinations to people as part of the National Vaccination Program.
Mid North Coast Local Health District's COVID-19 Vaccination Hub Nursing Unit Manager Clare Scullion was the first to receive the vaccine in Coffs Harbour.
She said it was important for everyone able to be vaccinated to do so in order to protect each other from COVID-19 and is looking forward to giving others the jab.
"I was excited to roll up my sleeve this morning and play my part in helping to protect our community, and I would encourage everyone to do the same," she said.
"My brother and cousins in Ireland have had COVID-19 so I know firsthand how it can impact families and local communities.
"Mum and Dad back home have already had their first dose of the vaccine so it's wonderful that we now have the opportunity to do the same."
Mid North Coast Local Health District Chief Executive Stewart Dowrick said opening the hub was an exciting time for staff and the broader community.
"The Coffs Harbour Vaccination Hub is an important milestone for our district and NSW as we continue to rally against COVID-19," he said.
"Our staff across the district are being encouraged to get vaccinated as an additional measure for keeping themselves and our local communities safe from COVID-19."
The AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine will be given in two doses.
