Each of the RSL sub branches along the Mid North Coast is working hard to deliver commemoration activities on ANZAC Day that are within the guidelines of COVID-19 restrictions in adherence with NSW government direction.
While certain exceptions have been granted under relevant Public Health Orders, ANZAC Day commemoration events must still meet the requirements of COVID-19 Safety Plans. The end result is that some sub branches are going to be able to conduct modified ANZAC Day marches, dawn and main services while some sub branches will be unable to march but can conduct ANZAC Day services.
The purpose of this article is to advise on the current intention for the conduct of ANZAC Day commemoration events in your area; however, I caution that these have potential to change due to the ever evolving nature of COVID-19 restrictions. I recommend contacting your local RSL sub branch for confirmation.
South West Rocks will commence a Dawn Service at 5:45am, conduct a modified march for veterans and descendants at 10:40am and will hold their Main Service at 11am.

At Nambucca Heads, a Dawn Service will commence at 5:30am with a Main Service taking place at 10:30am. COVID-19 Safety Plan requirements have resulted in no march being possible at Nambucca Heads.
In Urunga there will be no ANZAC Services however sub branch members will be participating in a combined 9am Main Service at the International Sports Stadium in Coffs Harbour.
Bellingen will hold a Dawn Service at 5:30am and a Main Service at 9am. COVID-19 restrictions have resulted in no march being possible at Bellingen.

Whether you attend a ANZAC Day commemoration event in your town or not, what we owe the original ANZACs and the thousands of service men and Women and their families since is that we remember them.
In 2020 thousands of Australians stood in their driveways at dawn as a touching act of remembrance and it is likely this gesture will be repeated for many years to come. On ANZAC Day 2021 we will remember them. Lest we Forget.
