KEMPSEY Shire Council has launched a recovery hub to help people in the community get back on their feet after the recent flooding across the Macleay.
Working closely with various support agencies, charities and private suppliers, they are hoping to help as many people as possible.
Located at 57 Elbow St in West Kempsey, the hub is open weekdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm, alternatively, anybody requiring flood assistance can call the recovery hub on 6566 3200.
The rain has slowed significantly in the last week, but there are still areas across our region in dire straits, including those evacuated from their homes in Stuarts Point and houses still without power upriver.
The recovery efforts are expected to be ongoing for the foreseeable future.
