Players returned to the golf course last Saturday after a week of wet weather and with the course back to its very best the 103 players enjoyed a good day at Kempsey Golf Club.

With Saturday being the first of the month and also Easter Saturday there was a good number of visitors from near and far for the 2021 Amcal Max 18 hole Single Stroke event for the Monthly Medals in each grade.
The visitors were from Crescent Head, Frederickton, SWR, Tewantin-Noosa, Massey Park, Wauchope, Lane Cove, Nambucca Heads, Mangrove Mountain, Toowoomba, Maitland, Kogarah, Branxton & Karratha golf clubs.
A big thank you goes to Greg and his team from Amcal Max for the sponsorship of the day.
Taking out the best score on the day and the medal in the 'B' grade was Bryce Widdison with a very good net score of 66 and in the top grade Matt Lewis was the medal winner with net score of 69 and in the 'C' grade the winner was Mitchell Clarke with a net score of 67.
All three winners will now play off for the gold medal in November.
The runner up to Lewis in the top grade with a net score of 70 on a countback was Craig Dickinson, while in the 'B' grade it was Adam Walton from Wauchope with a net score of 68 as the runner up and Firey Tehan with a net score of 68 was the 'C' grade runner up.
Taking the best gross score in the top grade was Lewis with a super round of 73, while it was Walton with a score of 82 as the 'B' grade winner and with a score of 90 Clarke won the 'C' grade.
The winners of the ntp's at the 3rd hole were Wallung Dickson 'A', Rod Kinnear 'B', Jeremy Dowling 'C'.
At the 8th hole the winners were Dickson 'A', Widdison 'B' & Clarke 'C'.
On the 11th hole the winners were Peter Livermore 'A', David Holme 'B', Ron Ingall 'C'.
The winners of the ntp's at the 16th hole were Troy Smith'A', Tony May 'B', Shane Holten 'C', Jessica Pritchard'L'.
This weeks winner of the super tee ntp on the 18th hole was won by Brody Clarke with a good shot after being the first group out at 7am.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a score of 73 net and better and they can collected from the pro shop at the club along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
Saturday at the club is a big day with the club holding the 2021 Volkswagen Scramble Competition along with a 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event for the players not playing in the scramble.
All players can book in at the club or go online to book in for your round and for the players in the scramble it's not to late to go online to book in for the event.

Again, a reminder to all players that you are still required to obey the COVID19 rules at the club.
On Sunday April 11 the first round of the 2021 MNC pennants will be staged with our div. 2 side playing at home against Coffs at 10am.
All players should check with Brad at the club for more details about the day.
The round one match for the open div. team has been postponed until later in the year and they will be back in action next week Sunday April 18.
