BUT this is about to change with the announcement of an exciting new production.
The highly acclaimed Australian play A Hard God written by Peter Kenna will be performed by the group in the last three weeks of August, with nine performances currently scheduled.
Set in Sydney during the 1940s, the story focuses on the trials and tribulations of the Cassidy's, an Irish Australian Catholic Family.
The show consists of serious drama, with some great comic relief thrown in to lighten the mood.
The first production was performed in 1973 at the Nimrod Theatre in Sydney, and was directed by John Bell, who formed the famous Bell Shakespeare company.
Auditions will be held at 7pm, Tuesday, April 27, at the BandBox Theatre in West Kempsey, Cnr of Sea & Wide St.
Park on the grounds and enter the theatre through the side door.
If you are planning to audition OR if you are unable to attend on April 27, please call the director, Greg Taylor, on 0447 644 422.
Greg has previously directed HMS Inafore (2013), Cosi (2015) and A tribute to Gilbert and Sullivan (2017), which he also wrote.
