Almost two years ago his grandmother Claire was diagnosed with cancer.
She underwent chemotherapy and Jake knew this makes your hair fall out.
From there he decided it'd be a great idea to grow his glorious long locks to give his hair to help anyone feel better in any way while fighting cancer.
Unfortunately, Jacob's grandmother passed away on August 3 last year.
He said she was a massive fan of his long hair and he soon found out about Wigs 4 Kids.
Wigs 4 Kids is an organisation that supplies wigs at no cost to kids who have lost their hair during cancer.
Jacob will say goodbye to his locks on May 5 at Kempsey East on a date that marks a very special occasion - it would be his grandmother's birthday.
Fundraising from his hair cut will allow Kids with Cancer Foundation to continue with their financial support of families that have a child suffering cancer.
Despite spending some time with his hair, Jacob looks forward to the date.
"It's all for a good cause," he agreed.
While not shaving all of his hair off, he harbours plans to let his hair re-grow and flow in the wind again.
"Not nearly as long though," he said.
