A Welcome to Country will kick off proceedings at 3pm in Brighton Park at the corner of Landsborough and Mitchell streets.
In concert with Kempsey Shire Council aspirant Arthur Bain, Cate hopes to have frank and open discussions that reveal how Arthur, a resident of Bellbrook 'upriver', might best serve the people at the mouth of the Macleay should he be elected.
She will bring an intimate knowledge of issues at a State level and will welcome questions from members of the community.
Topics are likely to include planning legislation and biodiversity offsets, threats to local forests from energy production using biomass as well as discussion around the success of the Yarrahappini wetlands and the impact of recent rains on erosion control and effects on the Macleay River.
Arthur's detailed knowledge of river health through his chairing of the voluntary group Save our Macleay River (SOMR) will lend itself to an informed discussion.
