Coordinator Peter Watson announced during the consumption of a sumptuous morning tea that 1100 hours of volunteer effort had been contributed in that time.

The attention given to the area between a point just north of the Delicate Campground and south to the Waves Campground has received repeated acclamation by the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

A bumper number of volunteers were present to concentrate on an area just south of the Delicate camping area and the 21 contributors had bitou bush and senna in their sights. The senna has now developed seed pods so it is a crucial time to collect those and remove the plants.

Senna's yellow flowers make for easy spotting, particularly in dense areas of bush.

All through the group's three years of operation the number of volunteers has been boosted by the kind managers of Waves Campground who 'donate' their work crew to assist and enough thanks cannot be heaped upon them!

This session had just under half the total number from Waves, and it is that sort of participation that can get a lot done in very little time.

The 'crew' are invariably visitors to this part of Australia and the conversation flows easily as life stories are exchanged resulting in the time seemingly passing quickly.

Not all sessions are so well attended and the group always welcomes new volunteers. The large picnic shelter in the Delicate Campground on the second Tuesday of every month with an 8.30am start is how you can join in the camaraderie and gain the satisfaction of maintaining this patch of the coast in a beautiful state.
