Thanks to a talented group of indigenous comedians and the iconic Bowraville Theatre, some great laughs are coming our way very soon.
Introducing, the Koori Comedy Showcase, an evening of being entertained by some of Australia's best stand-up served up by six legends of comedy.
Scheduled for a 7pm start on Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5 at the Bowraville Theatre, it's guaranteed to be the highlight of the week.
Tickets are currently $35 online at stickytickets.com.au (always the easiest way to buy tickets), search for the Koori Comedy Showcase.
Due to some of the content, the show is strictly for ages 16 and over.
Come and support these deadly comics, and you will also be helping the volunteer run, not-for-profit historic Bowraville Theatre keep running as a community asset.
The all indigenous line up has been masterminded by Dave Human, a veteran of the stand-up circuit, and his partner Jessie 'Rabbit' Miller who have formed Human Rabbit Entertainment.
Jessie and Dave were present at the recent Warren H. Williams and local Gumbaynggirr artists concert that heralded the Bowraville Theatres re-opening following the worst of the COVID-19 restrictions.
They loved the vibe of the theatre and the healing nature of the show and wanted to continue this feeling, so they decided to put together the best line-up of comics the Mid North Coast has ever seen.
Jessie will MC the shows, and Dave, who will be delivering his own unique brand of comedy, said all those who will be taking to the stage are Deadly Comedy Finalists from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
They say that comedy is the best way for us to come out of the lock-downs and restrictions we have been subjected to for so long.
The only way to find out if that's true, is to come along.
Jessie and Dave advise that audiences can expect, first and foremost, lots and lots of laughs.
There will be over 30 years of stand-up experience within the showcase and even a special appearance from the 70 years young and hilarious, Aunty Maureen French.
Human Rabbit Entertainment have also secured Jacob Keed, CY Fahay, Benny Eggmolesse and Bill Makin to appear in the Koori Comedy Showcase.
All of these acclaimed indigenous comics are considered the cream of the crop and some of the best in the game.
Tickets are selling fast for this unique entertainment event; Jessie and Dave advise not to leave it too late to secure your seats, or you may miss out.
Bring along your mob, and don't miss out on the best laughs the Mid North Coast has had in many years.
