The local disability employment service won the Excellence in Innovation and Excellence in Professional Services categories, while Timothy Squires won the Outstanding Employee award.

Manager of Key Employment Lisa Reed says being recognised as a top-notch business was the perfect present ahead of their 30th birthday celebration later this year.

"Our motto is 'Achieve Anything', and I think we did that with our three major awards, to my knowledge, we were the only business to hit the hat- trick on the night," she said.

"We are very proud that the community voted for us in the Professional Services category; we are thrilled that they understand what we do, and appreciate our efforts on behalf of people with disabilities.

"This was the perfect gift for our 30th birthday, celebrating three decades of inclusion and supporting people with disabilities in the Macleay."

At some point this year, Timothy Squires, and the business will head to the Regional Awards in their categories, but like most events in 2021, it will depend on COVID-19 restrictions.

The awards are just Key Employment's latest achievement; the last few years have seen the business go from strength to strength, expanding their operations and hitting a coveted 94 per cent success rate with their clients.

"The local hiring of staff members means that our community ties and connections with stakeholders deepen, and we can provide a more personal, local approach to both clients and stakeholders," Lisa said.

"We are so proud of the team, and thankful to all our supporters in the community, both individuals, and businesses; we wouldn't be here without them."

Depending on COVID-19 restrictions, Lisa hopes that 2021 will also be the year their Glitz and Glamour Ball event returns.

"We are hoping to hold our Glitz and Glamour Ball, which was sadly cancelled last year, in the next few months," Lisa said.

"The ball is a wonderful night, where people with disabilities get the chance to go out, dance and enjoy themselves.

"Previous events have received nothing but positive feedback, with many parents telling us they have never seen their children have so much fun before, which is just lovely to hear."

Key Employment primarily works with people who have a disability or long term medical condition to help them find meaningful work.
