To mark this special day, Nellie and her husband Bob were joined by family and friends for a luncheon at Macksville RSL Club.
Nellie, a much-loved resident, is well known for her generosity and regularly donates her time to local charities and organisations by crafting her knitted treasures.
Including teddy bears donated to the local Ambulance Service, knitted poppies for ANZAC Day commemorations, and rugs raffled and sold to help charities fundraising efforts.
Over the years, many newborns have started out dressed in delicately made booties which Nellie donated to Macksville hospital.
Many in the valley have been lucky to be the recipient of one of Nellie's skilfully knitted pieces.
In these cold winter nights, many would be enjoying the warmth of one of Nellie's handcrafted rugs.
Nellie has taken great pride and gained much enjoyment in the role she has played to quietly help others.
It was fitting to see her contribution to our community recognised in a past Australia Day Award.
Congratulations Nellie, you should take great pride in all you have achieved, wishing you all the very best as you celebrate this milestone.
