WAUCHOPE interchange player Mick McInnes was suspended for 28 matches by the Group Three Rugby League judiciary this week.
McInnes pleaded guilty to a grade four striking charge, the most serious. He was involved in an incident with Old Bar player Tanna Hinton late in the clash at Wauchope on Saturday June 19. Hinton was knocked out.
Old Bar later cited McInnes on video evidence.
The judiciary was shown the video of the incident that Group Three chairman Wayne Bridge said was 'fairly conclusive.'
Mr Bridge said the suspension is one of the longest handed down in recent years. McInnes will miss all of the 2022 season and won't be eligible to play until sometime during 2023.
