LOCAL photographer and Kemspey school teacher Bryan Jones has achieved national recognition for an image that has cleverly combined a love of landscapes with digital manipulation technology.
Bryan's image, Wait, was named a winner in the 2021 Sony Alpha Awards.
He took out the top award in the creative category.
The image captures a stunning moment on an empty Lighthouse Beach at Port Macquarie, enhanced digitally with a photo of his wife jumping in the air.
The result is an ethereal and cinematic composition capturing the stillness and beauty of the landscape.
The Sony Alpha Awards recognise Australian and New Zealand photographers across all skill levels and the stunning imagery they captured on Sony Alpha cameras and lenses.
In 2021, over 4900 stunning images were submitted by professional and amateur photographers, for the chance to be recognised for their talents.
Bryan was initially hesitant about entering this category as he primarily photographs seascapes.
He was stunned when he took out the top prize.
The Kempsey High School design and technology teacher was drawn to photography during his teenage years, shooting automotive and landscape photographs.
He has a close group of photographer friends who he often meets out in the field while chasing the perfect image.
Bryan would like to expand his interests in astrophotography.
