Exams and a quick stop home.
That'll be Zac Hough's plan of attack before the schoolboy rugby prodigy makes the big move down south after signing with the Melbourne Rebels this week.
Hough, a Kempsey Cannonballs junior who starred in first grade's 33-27 win over Coffs Harbour Snappers this year was announced as one of two new signings for the Super Rugby club in preparation for the 2022/23 season.
"I'm pretty excited, I've only been down to Melbourne once so I'm pretty keen," he said to the Argus.
"I didn't get much of a reaction out of Dad (Ben) because he's humble and quiet but Mum (Colleen) was pretty stoked, she was probably happier than me because she found out before me."
Currently in his third season of First XV's at Brisbane Boys' College, Hough plays flanker for his side and has previously been apart of the Queensland Reds junior system.
He recently led BBC to an outright GPS Rugby Premiership in 2020, leading to the eighteen-year-old being selected in a merit World XV schoolboy team.
Playing with familiar faces made the youngster even more keen for the move with various Rebels players recruited from the Queensland system.
"I've been at school with a lot of them and I've played with or against a couple," Hough explained.
"Mason Gordon who went down last year was my captain last year."
"The fact I'm playing with people I know (excites me) and having the chance to play Super Rugby in a few years."
With term three of the school year in full swing he'll have to wait a few months before making the move.
"It's term three at school so I've got trial exams now then externals soon so it'll be about two months (left of school)," Hough said.
"I'll come home for a few days then fly down in late November.
"The first year (in Melbourne) I'm supposed to be boarding with another teammate and then after that I'll live with my uncle who's about ten minutes from the ground."
