After devoting over 30 years of his life to the Club, 20 years on the executive, 14 years as treasurer and 6 years as president, Carlos Peters has decided to spend more time concentrating on his business and with his family.
Peters has been a huge influence on the Club and its members.
His knowledge and administration of the game is second to none.
His ethics and core values have been passed on to the Rovers members.
In a roller coaster 20 years, Peters has definitely seen both good and bad times at the Club.
He has resigned from the presidency role leaving the Club in a brilliant position both financially and with member numbers sky rocketing since his time in the role.
Peters has also stood down from his role as president of Macleay Valley Cricket Association and vice-president of the Mid North Coast Cricket Council. He will remain involved with Rovers as he was elected in a smaller role of vice-president of the Club, sharing the role with Jackson Korn.
Treasurer Andrew Bennett has also stood down from his role, taking on assistant treasurer to Dan Wade, who has put his hand up to take over the position. Wade is no new comer to the executive, as he was assistant treasurer last year.
Bennett has been in charge of the finances for the past 6 years and has been on the committee for over 20 years.
Wade is no stranger to Rovers, playing most of his cricket at the Club. Currently starring as Rovers leading bowler in Premier League.
Peters and Bennett have literally poured blood, sweat and tears in to the Club.
Popular Rover and strong Macleay community man, Matt Scott was elected unopposed as president.
Scott has some huge shoes to fill, however he is up for the challenge and will certainly put in 110% effort in to ensuring the Club will remain in a strong position.
Scott has experienced the every day running of the Club being vice-president for several years, earning the nickname of 5-fifths, and has been on the committee for several years.
He has witnessed first hand the highs and lows of cricket both on the cricket field and in administration.
Scott is an original member of the Premier League team and will continue to play, leading the way both on and off the field.
Colleen Hough remains as secretary. Her balanced opinion and work ethic is an ideal fit to the executive and she is very valued member.
The Hough family was recognised for their commitment to the Club at the presentation early this year, being awarded the Cherie Brennan Memorial family of the year award.
Rovers will conduct a muster day on September 15 at Verge St Nets if restrictions are lifted.
There is also the option of online registration. The club will be looking to field teams from Under 10s through to first grade. Cricket training will commence on Wednesday September 15 (lockdown permitting).
For further information please contact Matt Scott on 0411795271.
