However, things won't get any easier once the competition is finally put to bed for this year.
Group chief executive Mal Drury said it will be a NSWRL requirement to organise a Group Three/Group Two representative fixture sometime in the off-season.
This will be a prelude to naming a North Coast squad for the 2022 representative season.
Mr Drury pointed out that getting players interested in an off-season game presents enough difficulties in normal times.
"This year we're facing the possibility of players not having played a match in months because of the lockdown,'' he said.
There hasn't been a full round of football played in Group Three since July 31 while Group Two is in a similar position.
It's expected the representative season, involving North Coast under 16,18, senior and women's teams will be played before the start of regular competitions next year, unless there's a change of thought by the NSWRL.
Group Three's plans to stage a women's rugby league competition in October also look set to be thwarted by the lockdown.
The group had hoped to run a six week competition starting from Saturday, October 9, but Mr Drury said this is now unlikely.
