The members of the Kempsey Golf Club last Saturday played in the 20-21 Gold Medal Playoff with winners from the past 12 months competing for the Gold medal on the day.
The day was the 2021 George Hill 18 hole Medley Single Stroke event for the monthly medals in each grade for November 2021.
A big thank you goes to George for his sponsorship of the day and again to Graeme and his staff and all the volunteers for your work during the week to have the course in tip top condition for this major event of the year.
At the end of the day's play the three players who claimed the gold medals were Dane Grabbe in the 'A' grade, Josh Swan claimed the 'B' grade title while John Wright took out the 'C' gold medal.
Congratulations goes to all three players and to everyone for playing during the year.
Another highlight of the day's play was the scoring of two hole in one's at the par 3 3rd hole on Saturday.
The 130mt short par 3 played very easy for two players on Saturday.
Firstly it was Dane Grabbe who got the ace and then it was Shane Holten, not too many groups behind, who also scored the ace on the 3rd hole.
Congratulations to both players on your wonderful tee shots.
On Saturday there was a field of 88 players for the Stroke event with visitors from Frederickton, Tuggerah Lakes, Thurgoona, Nambucca Heads, Massey Park and SWR golf clubs.
The winner in the top grade this week was Stuart Phillips with a very good net score of 63 while Nathan Moran was runner up with a net 69.
Josh Swan continues to improve and this week won the 'B' grade with a net score of 68 from Ben Pierpoint on 71.
The 'C' grade winner was Elizabeth Tehan with a net score of 71 and with a net score of 72 Russell Graham was the runner up.
Phillips, Swan & Graham will now go into the medal playoff next November for the 2021-22 Gold medals.
The winners of the gross event on Saturday were Andrew Kirkman with a very good round of 65 (7 under), Josh Swan in 'B' with 84 and in 'C' grade the winner was Belinda Northey with a round of 95.
The winners of the ntp's at the 3rd hole were Grabbe 'A', Holten 'B', Steve Trott 'C', Belinda Northey 'L'.
At the 8th hole the winners on Saturday were Matt Lewis 'A', Michael Fyffe 'B', Jenny Preston 'L'.
On the 11th hole winners were Kirkman 'A', Brad Martin 'B', John Daley 'C'. Bob Garner 'A', & Northey 'L' were the winners at the 16th hole.
The winner of the super tee ntp on the 18th hole this week was John Daley.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a net score of 75 on a countback and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
Saturday at the club the members and visitors will play in the 2021 Peter Steffensen 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event and all intending players wishing to play can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round and for more information about the upcoming events please give the club a call anytime.
Again the club asked everyone to obey the COVID19 rules at the club and please check in before you enter the club so everyone can stay safe and enjoy your round on the day.
On Saturday November 20 the 2021 "Clash of the Titans" 18 hole 2 person Ambrose event will be held.
The day being sponsored by Tim Mecham will be one not to miss so please book in now for this event at the club.
The 2021 Macleay Valley Travel Kempsey Open Day will be held on Sunday November 28.
The 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event will see lots of top prizes up for grabs on the day so again please check in at the club for this big day.
