Community complaints about the location halted the original plans, so the council's manager of infrastructure services, Matthew Leibrandt, says they are now looking for community input before proceeding.
"We've received requests dating back many years about a skate park at Scotts Head," he said.
"We recently received funding to construct a modest skate pad in the Adin Street reserve; however, it was decided not to proceed with construction due to a number of complaints about the proposed location.
"Council have decided a community survey would help determine the appropriate location and scale of a future skate and recreation park."
The survey is open now; to have your say, head over to www.nambucca.nsw.gov.au and follow the prompts.
Online access is also available by using a QR code on any of the survey posters around Nambucca Heads or by visiting the Macksville or Nambucca Heads Library for a hard copy of the survey.
The survey will close on January 14, 2022.
Those who sign up to the project mailing list by adding their email address to the survey will receive further updates and be invited to participate in the concept design phase following selection of the site.
