Kids of all ages took turns jumping and weaving on the track and the pro riders, Ryan Gilchrist and Zoe Cuthbert, put on some great demonstrations for the crowd.
The pump track had been in development for nearly three years, and the day was to celebrate how much work the council and community had put into it.
Kempsey Shire Council event organiser Aisha Spokes said she was blown away by the turnout.
"It was awesome to see that our community didn't let a little bad weather get in the way of a fantastic afternoon of fun at the pump track launch with almost 200 people turning up to ride," Ms Spokes said.
"Neither the kids, the pros or the parents minded the drizzles of rain and it was nothing but fun and smiles."
One lucky kid was given a free bike from the pump track builders and there was a mechanic there to help out with any issues.
"For those who missed it, don't worry as some of our fantastic project partners are planning to host more events into the future starting early next year," Ms Spokes said.
