Maddison Butterfield (best net o t f) and Andrew Kirkman (best gross o t f) were the major winners last Sunday in the 2021 Macleay Valley Travel Kempsey Golf Club Open Day.
The day attracted a very good field of 95 players with visitors coming from Frederickton, Crescent Head, Macksville and Nambucca Heads golf clubs to play along side the members in the 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event.
To Bryn and his team from MVT a big thank you for your sponsorship of the event and to all the volunteers for your work around the club on the day.
Taking out the 'A' grade was Maddison with her score of 40 points while Craig Dickinson with 39 points was the runner up.
Athol Davis was back to his best with victory in the 'B' grade with a score of 39 points from Peter Callaghan who recorded a round of 38 points.
Desmond McMillan was the 'C' grade winner with his score of 38 points and with a score of 38 also Steve Wallis was the runner up.
On Saturday at the club a reduced field of 55 players took part in the 18 hole Single Stableford event and Andrew Evans in the 'C' grade was the stand out player with a round of 42 for the victory.
Alfred Drew was the runner up to Evans with a score of 35 points.
Damon Green from the seaside club of Crescent Head was the 'A' grade winner on Saturday with a round of 37 points while it was TJ Smith as the runner up with 36 points.
Wayne Binnie in the 'B' grade on Saturday was the winner with his round of 36 on a countback from Kevin Hopping also with 36 points.
Saturday at the club will see the members come dressed in there best Xmas clothes for the staging of the 2021 Brad Dyet and Caleb Foran sponsored 18 hole 4 person Ambrose event for the Xmas hams for the winners and the runner ups on the day.
All intending players can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round and for more information about the upcoming events please give the club a call.
As this is the last Saturday of the month a reminder to all members that the club will be closed next Saturday Christmas Day and the club wishers everyone a merry Christmas and happy golfing in 2022.
However, the club wishers to advise that on Monday December 27 there will be a 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event with a walk up start from 7am or you can book in at the club.
