While everyone was recovering from the New Years Eve party last Saturday (January 1) there was a field of 74 players at the Kempsey Golf Club for the staging of the 2022 Celebrations 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event.

This was the first day of the month long sponsorship by the team at Cellarbrations (Kempsey) which will see another four Saturdays this month of different events for everyone.
With the holidays upon us now there was a good number of visitors who took on the Kempsey course on the day.
There were visitors from Frederickton, SWR, Penrith, Camden Valley, Crescent Head and Harden County Club who enjoyed their rounds on the day along with the Kempsey Members who were out to improve their golf.
To the team at Cellarbrations a very big thank you goes your way for your continued support of golf at the club.
The day saw some very good scores in all three grades with Stuart Phillips the stand out player with his round of 41 points in the top grade and a 2 point victory over his nearest rival James Benson.
The current club champion Benson had a 3 under par round on Saturday for his round of 39 points to be the runner up to Phillips in the top grade.
Scott Witchard from the Crescent Head club won the 'B' grade on Saturday with his score of 40 points on a countback from Ethan Dowling who is taking a break from his cricket commitments over the Christmas and New Year's break.
In the 'C' grade on Saturday Callan McKiernan who is just starting to improve his game won with his round of 38 points and again on a countback from Jeremy Dowling who made it a family double of runner ups.
The winners of the ntp's at the 3rd hole were Craig Dickinson 'A', Lionel Worth 'B' & Col Hall (Frederickton) 'C'. At the 8th hole the winners were Peter Hatton 'A' & Chris Edmonds 'B'. The winners on Saturday at the 11th hole were Conrad Tamblyn ' A', Darren DeJoux 'B' & Luke Hovenden 'C'. Mark Morrison 'A' was the only winner on the very tough 16th hole.
The winners of the ball competition the winners on the day was players with a score of 33 points on a countback and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
The Cellarbrations will continue on Saturday with the staging of the 18 hole Medley Single Stroke event for the Monthly Medals in each grade and all intending players wishing to play can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round and any visitors in the area looking for a game can give the club a call to book in for your round.
A reminder to all players that you must read the playing conditions before hitting off tomorrow for your round and please obey the COVID19 rules at the club at all times.
