"I had a lot of beatings, I got beaten up a lot, I got stabbed. I've got two stab marks on my arms where I was stabbed," she told Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie.
"I had a lot of enemies. And obviously being 'the gringa' in a Spanish prison, it just brings that attention of you know, rich white girl. Need to, I guess, bully her down until that's it."
Ms Sainsbury has signed on as a contestant of the reality endurance program SAS Australia and said filming the show "instantly transported" her "straight back to prison".
Participating in the show allowed Ms Sainsbury to work through some trauma from her experiences in prison, she said.
Ms Sainsbury was convicted of cocaine smuggling in Colombia in 2017 and was released on parole after three years.

"I thought prison was hard, coming back to Australia...trying to pick my life up and continue, it's not been as easy as one would like," she told the radio hosts.
The 28-year-old met her wife while on parole in Colombia and the pair now live in Adelaide.
"Words can't ever explain what I feel everyday for the past I lived and for the people I hurt," she captioned a picture of the couple posted to Instagram.
"Words won't ever be able to describe the place that I barely managed to crawl out of and what it did to me. I know many people believe that I deserve everything I got, but I wouldn't ever wish it on my worst enemy.
"But living one day at a time became just that little bit easier when I met my wife."
