A hardworking Kempsey tradie has confessed he might take a break from work and “have clean hands for a change” after he discovered this morning he was a millionaire.
The man held the only division one winning entry across Australia in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 3738 on Monday 12 February 2018.
It’s the second time during the past three days a division one win has landed in the Kempsey region after a Kempsey woman celebrated her $1.5 million win on the weekend.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning marked 18-game entry at Gladstone Newsagency & General Store, 15 Ashton Street, Gladstone.
Kempsey’s newest millionaire was hard at work and oblivious to his good fortune until a NSW Lotteries official made contact with him this morning.
“Holy dooley! Wow! That’s amazing!” the tradie exclaimed when his $1 million win was confirmed.
“I’m still shaking like crazy. It will definitely change our lives for sure.
“It’s just an awesome morning. It’s been so hot and muggy here but I don’t care now.

The man explained he was a regular Monday & Wednesday Lotto player and had marked his entry using favourite numbers.
He admitted he wasn’t sure exactly how he would use his windfall.
“I’ll have to let it sink in for a while. I might even take a bit of a break from work. I might have clean hands for a change!” he laughed.
Gladstone Newsagency & General Store owner Robyn McNaught said the outlet was thrilled to have sold its first division one winning entry in more than a decade.
“It’s nice to have a division one win under our belt and hopefully there’s many more to come for our customers,” she said.
The six winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3738 on Monday 13 February 2018 were 8, 39, 4, 10, 37 and 3, while the supplementary numbers were 43 and 17.
