The duo decided to run the half marathon at the South West Rocks Running Festival and raise funds for Asthma Foundation Australia in the lead up to the event.
However, the two were devastated and fuming after their fundraising charity tin was selfishly stolen from the counter at an IGA in Kempsey.
Generosity of the community and perseverance prevailed as Chloe and Jodie stuck to their plan and raised much-needed funds for the organisation.
“With the generous support and donations from our local community we have smashed our goal out of the park,” Jodie told the Argus.
“We can’t thank everyone enough for all of their support.”
