The club runs a number of programs including holiday care, the Vision Program, which is a before school program and after school care.
Kempsey PCYC club manager Leonie Kennedy said receiving the funding from the State Government will allow the club to focus on adding more activities for students who attend the club.
“We’re looking at putting more activities into the club and extending the days that we run programs, allowing more youth to attend programs at the club,” Ms Kennedy said.
“We’re very grateful we’ve been given the chance and this will further allow us to help the community.”
The club also offers programs and activities for teenagers including a safe driving class, a yoga class and includes a fully functional gym.
“The door is always open for the young people in the community, it is a safe, fun place to hang out,” Ms Kennedy said.
The club is planning to double the Vision Program next term and also add even more activities for students.
They will also be running programs during the school holidays and will have activities during NAIDOC Week celebrations.
“We have a school holiday program which includes multi sports on weekdays and also art and craft classes and a Koori cook off which is a collaboration with Kempsey Place Plan,” Ms Kennedy said.
