Kempsey Fire and Rescue were notified at 12.28pm of a bushfire on West St in South Kempsey and arrived on the scene soon after.
The blaze was located on vacant bushland and the firefighters were able to contain the fire and prevent any danger to the neighbouring properties.
While battling the fire, Kempsey Fire and Rescue were called to another blaze on Crescent Head Rd at 12.53pm.
The second fire was brought under control quickly.
Police received reports people were seen fleeing the scene in South Kempsey on motorbikes.
Police are investigating both incidents and they are requesting anyone with information to come forward.
Kempsey Fire and Rescue Station Commander Tony Hackenberg said the dry conditions will contribute to a dangerous fire season.
