The access ramp was opened in December last year and it provides locals and holidaymakers with access to the creek.
It’s especially important for locals living with a disability who were previously unable to access and enjoy the popular swimming spot.
South West Rocks Lions volunteer Iris Mckelligott was horrified when she heard the sign had been destroyed.
“I couldn’t believe somebody would do that,” Mrs Mckelligott told the Argus.
“They have taken out the Lions sign from the frame and stolen it or disposed of it.
“The Lions club does great work for the community and it’s disappointing to have these things happen – it’s not fair.”
The ramp was a joint venture between the South West Rocks Lions Club, Kempsey Shire Council and the State Government.
Police have been informed of the incident.
