Maddison was the goalkeeper for the Under-14s representative side and played a vital role in the team claiming the Herald Women’s Premier League premiership trophy.
Maddison was in goals for the second half of the club’s 1-0 grand final victory over Merewether United FC last month.
“She has a great attitude and club mentality, which is something we need more of.”
- Michael Grass
Maddison became the first person to receive the award at the Football Mid North Coast presentation day on Sunday.
Michael Grass presented Maddison with the award.
“The Club Person of the Year award is awarded for someone who goes above expectations to help make the club a success,” Grass said.
“She has a great attitude and club mentality, which is something we need more of.”
Maddison received the award for her willingness to help out the Under-17s representative team when they needed players.
Maddison made herself available in every game this year and her devotion to the club and teammates didn’t go unrecognised.
Maddison also gave up her time to stay after her match and warm up the older goalkeepers. This unselfishness continued on grand final day as Maddison stayed around and helped warm up the Under-20s goalkeeper instead of celebrating with her teammates who she had just claimed a championship with.
The goalkeeper was instrumental in helping the side maintain an impressive defensive record throughout the season as the side conceded only 12 goals in their 21 regular season games.
Maddison’s team ran away in the minor premiership race, as they claimed the title with four rounds remaining and they won 20 of their regular season matches.
The team also boasted an impressive offensive record as they found the back of the net on 115 occasions.
