Gary Darke bested 13 opponents who contested the October Bowler of the Month competition at the Galactic Tenpin Bowling in South Kempsey last weekend.

Anne Cox held a 12-pin lead after recording a 190 in her first game but the lead didn’t last long as Gary recorded a huge score in his second game to take a 12-pin lead.
Gary continued his fine form in the third game to stay in the lead and earn a 22-pin victory.
All three games were very close and it was a great match to watch unfold.
High Games for the men were Tim Gwyther 247, Gary Darke 215, Luke Coleman 214 and Mathew Sanders 213.
High Games for the ladies were Anne Cox 190, Kerry Darke 185, and Sharon Van Eaton 159.
Bowlers contesting the October bowler of the month competition were Gary Darke, Mathew Sanders, Luke Coleman, Tim Gwyther, Anne Cox, Martin Vandenberg, Terry Cox, Kerry Darke, Terry Frost, Ryan Vandenberg, Neil Heuston, Sharon Van Eaton, Gertrud Frost and James Van Eaton.
Competitors play three games with their respective handicap to determine the winner.
The winner will play at the end of the year for Bowler of the Year 2018
January winner was Martin Vandenberg, February winner was George Ackerley, March Winner was Nadine Secomb, April Winner was Damien Charry, May Winner was Terry Frost, June Winner was Darren Pietsch, July Winner was Nadine Secomb, August Winner was Terry Frost, September Winner was James Roods and October Winner was Gary S Darke.
Everyone is encouraged to compete in social bowling or join a league at the Galactic Tenpin in South Kempsey.
The Galactic Tenpin Bowling members are currently warming up for the Luke Fowler Memorial Open and the NSW Regional Tour with the latter being held at Galactic Tenpin on November 9 to 11.
