Local butchers L-Bo Butchery have taken out second place in the Australian Meat Industry Council’s 2018 NSW/ACT Small Goods Competition.

The competition is a way of promoting quality customer service and products in communities across the state.
After entering the competition for the first time last year and placing third, L-Bo-Butchery have now taken out second place with their bacon rashers.
“This was the only product that we entered in the small goods section and to come away with second is just amazing,” owner of L-Bo Butchery Josh Ball said.

“We felt more confident going into the competition this year after placing third last year.”
Mr Ball said, as a self taught butcher, it’s great to know they’re doing something right.
“We’re always trying to better our products and improve them. It’s just awesome for us to know what we produce is good quality and people like it,” he said.
There was over 110 entries in the Small Goods Competition from 19 butchers from across the state, Mr Ball said being recognised against some of the best butchers in the state is very rewarding.
“To compete against some of the best in the state is a great opportunity and to come away with second is even better.”
“We have confidence the product is great and customers have been giving us great feedback, our bacon sales have definitely been increasing.”
L-Bo Butchery have also recently been awarded the Triple M’s 2018 Best Butchers on the Mid North Coast as voted by locals.
“It’s a very proud moment,” Mr Ball said of the award.
