May’s funeral was held on Friday, 8 March 2019 at Walkers Crematorium, Frederickton and was represented well. I am honoured to have known May – she was an amazing ambassador for Kempsey and she will be sadly missed.
I love the Macleay Valley Coast tourism campaign
Kempsey Shire Council has launched a new campaign, ‘I love the Macleay Valley Coast’, to promote the Valley in Autumn. This concept is to encourage visitors to come and explore our vibrant business community and tourism offering.
The campaign has kicked off with over 20 local legend profiles, providing an insight into why these incredible people and businesses have chosen the Macleay Valley Coast as their home. You can read their stories at: www.macleayvalleycoast.com.au.
You may have already seen some cars displaying ‘I love the Macleay Valley Coast’ bumper stickers. If you’d like to help promote our Valley with a bumper sticker, they are available at Council’s Customer Services Centre or the Kempsey Visitor Information Centre.

Also, if your bins are stolen or vandalised you must report the incident to 131 444 to receive an event number. This step must be done before the bins can be replaced free of charge – again by calling the Waste Hotline on 1300 342 207.
