The proposed league would include five clubs from each region and they would compete over an 18 round season, with the grand final alternating between Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.
The proposed competition has the support of both boards and has been endorsed by the senior clubs at meetings in both zones.
Each club will have the opportunity to express interest in competing in the Coast Premier League. They will be required to field a first and reserve grade side.
Each zone would continue to run a Premier League within their regions.
Kempsey Saints and the Macleay Valley Rangers have thrown their full support behind the idea and told the Argus they plan to apply for inclusion into the new league.
Saints president Luke Flanagan claims the decision to introduce a new league will be beneficial for football in the region.
"I think it will help improve the standard of football in general," Flanagan said.
"The best teams will play each other more often, which will force players to play at their best on a weekly basis. That can only be a positive.
"The players will also have something to strive for. A player in the local Premier League competition can train hard, improve their performances and move up into the new league.

"There are also high quality players in the background of both clubs who aren't currently playing or who are playing in the Men's league, who will be more inclined to return to the higher standard of competition and will improve the two teams."
Rangers president Ashley Williams said the club has shown they have the ability to compete against the sides from Coffs Harbour.
"We were initially in a similar competition years ago," Williams said. "And we were able to win the competition back then.
"I would like to think we would be one of the clubs offered a spot."
Williams agrees the Coastal Premier League would create higher quality football for both regions.
"The Coffs Harbour competition is very similar to ours, as they have three or four top teams and a then a gap and then the rest of the sides," Willliams said.
"The proposed league would have the top teams from both regions playing each other which means each team will have a hard game every week.
"It will make for a much better competition and it opens up the door for younger players to not only strive to be included in the league but to actually get noticed and recognised."
Flanagan acknowledges Football Mid North Coast will have a tough decision on their hands when choosing the five teams to play in the proposed league.
"Kempsey is a small town and they will have to decide whether they want two sides from here to play in the Coastal Premier League," Flanagan said.
"But I would like to think so. Rangers have shown they are capable of winning competitions and I believe we have the depth and are trending in the right direction in terms of performance and quality of players in our squad.
"It would be a bit of a setback for our club, if we weren't to be included."
In a boost to Saints' chances for selection in the Coastal Premier League, the club's home fields at Eden St will receive a $10 million upgrade, if Melinda Pavey is re-elected.
Rangers and Saints have both finished in the top five of the Premier League in four of the last six years and Macleay Valley claimed the premiership last season.
Both clubs intend to field sides in the Football Mid North Coast Premier League competition as well as the Coast Premier League, if selected.
Chairman of Football Mid North Coast, Mike Parsons believes the proposed competition is a step in the right direction.
"This is an exciting joint venture. I am looking forward to showcasing our regional talent to a broader audience," Parsons said.
"The Coastal Premier League will improve the standard of our local football and provides a pathway for our talented players, coaches and match officials."
The 2019 Football Mid North Coast Premier League season will go ahead as planned.
