Refurbishments within the kennel block, including installing air conditioning, a new fence and general updates has been costly for the club.
"We have been working hard and spending a lot of money to make sure the dogs receive the best conditions possible," Byrnes told the Argus.
"Shane Cartwright has done a lot of the hard work to maintain the track and help get the kennels up to scratch ahead of the installation of the air conditioning.
"Now we just need to have the locals come down and show their support or even to see what we do and have more of an understanding of how good the facilities are for these dogs."
Byrnes encourages the community to attend the next race meeting at Kempsey on Saturday June 22.
"Everyone from all ages is welcome to come but in particular we would love to see some kids and teenagers in attendance with their parents," Byrnes said.
"A lot of the owners or trainers allow people to meet their dogs and give them a pat. I think it's important to have some young people involved in racing to keep the industry alive for the next generation."
The number of races and times for the June 22 meet will be finalised closer to the date.
