The New South Wales player won the guaranteed first prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1355, drawn Monday June 17.
In addition to winning the first prize, the happy man also won a consolation prize of $2,000, bolstering his total win to $202,000.
Confirming his win with a NSW Lotteries official this afternoon, the avid angler explained he was ready to celebrate the exciting news.
"Are you fair dinkum?" he laughed.
"That is fantastic. I am great now.
"I don't want to lose this ticket. I need to put it in my drawer for safe keeping.
"I am feeling very jittery. I am cracking open a beer right now.
"I will definitely be doing something fun tonight to celebrate. I will probably have a few more beers."
When asked how he planned to use his prize, the keen fisherman said he was excited to retire soon and spend his days fishing.
"I am going to pay off my mortgage," he explained. "We will put the rest away. It will be a big help for our retirement. It will be a nice nest egg.
"I will take some time off and go on a long fishing trip. I will definitely plan a few more fishing adventures in the future."
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Gladstone Newsagency & General Store.
The store co-owner Kevin McNaught said he was thrilled to have sold another major prize.
"We are delighted for him," he said.
"He is a local and very deserving.
"This is our third first prize winning Lucky Lotteries ticket we have sold since we've been here.
"In February last year we also sold a division one winning ticket so we feel very lucky.
"Hopefully this is the start of a winning streak and we make more of our customers happy winners."
