According to Weatherzone, Kempsey and Crescent Head will see a top of 28 degrees today, and with no chance of rain, it's going to be a warm, dry day. Friday will kick it up a notch and hit residents with a staggering 33 degrees. The hottest day of this month so far, and only 4 degrees lower than the all-time high of 37 set in September 2002.
Some relief is in sight though, with the weekend cooling down slightly to 25 for both Saturday and Sunday. Next week will see temperatures drop even further with a top of 24.
South West Rocks has the benefit of cooling sea breezes and will only reach a top of 25 today. Friday will hit 30, only 4 degrees more than the previous top of 26 for September. Winds could reach speeds of up to 27km on Saturday and Sunday, and cool down the weather for the weekend, Saturday is expected to reach 23, while Sunday has forecast a mild 21.
The start of next week will bring a sunny 21-degree day and then potentially bring a small shower, enough to dampen the ground, but still no where near enough to make a difference. With still no sign of significant rain for the region, and temperatures rising, everyone is reminded to report any sign of fire to 000 immediately.
