The 30-year-old is desperate to reignite his boxing journey after suffering defeat in four of his last five bouts since claiming the IBO World super-middleweight title with a stunning second round knockout of Daniel Geale.

"There's a lot on the line for me, this fight is make or break," Quinlan told the Argus.

Quinlan has faced formidable opponents during his string of tough losses, as he lost against two undefeated opponents, quality and experienced fighter Chris Eubank Jnr and Australia's Damien Hooper.

The Dunghutti Destroyer blames lengthy stints between fights as his downfall and he plans on returning to the ring as often as possible in an attempt to live up to the potential he displayed early in his career.

"I have spent anywhere from five months to 10 months between fights over the past three years and I think it has cost me," Quinlan said.

"I want to be a lot more active, stay at the top of my game and fight as often as possible."

Quinlan has his eyes set on a knockout victory over Lucas but claims he's prepared to go the distance with the fellow Australian, who enters the bout on the back of two defeats.

It won't be the first time the two throw down, as Quinlan and Lucas sparred in the lead up to Quinlan's showdown with Geale.

"I have sparred him four or five times and I know he's a good fighter," Quinlan said.

"But there's a massive difference between sparring and an actual fight. I am very confident I have it over him and I think I will get the stoppage win."

Quinlan told the Argus he is in line to fight on the Anthony Mundine versus John Wayne Parr card on November 30, but his opponent will be determined at a later date.
