The crowds made their way onto the sand and enjoyed the warm sunny weather the beginning of 2020 had to offer.
Families enjoyed picnics and barbecues, beach goers soaked up the sun and keen surfers took to the waves, all taking a relaxed approach to the start of the new year.
Meanwhile, local police have praised patrons for their good behaviour during last night's New Year's Eve celebrations.
