Felix Levesque said the average daytime temperature for January in Kempsey is 29 degrees, since records started.
He said this month, temperatures in Kempsey have consistently been in the low to mid 30s, which means it's on track to be the hottest January month since records began 16 years ago.
The weather pattern has pushed Kempsey's average daytime temperature for the month of January in 2020 to 32.5 degrees.
Kempsey's last hottest January on record was in 2017, with an average daytime temperature of 31.3 degrees.
If the rest of this week is anything to go by, Weatherzone's prediction is set to be correct.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday daytime temperatures are all set to reach the low to mid 30s.
Meanwhile, Mr Levesque said Saturday is expected to reach 35 degrees and Sunday a whopping 39 degrees.
There's a chance the high temperature on Sunday will be accompanied by some rainfall in the afternoon or evening.
Mr Levesque said there might also be a slight chance of a shower in the afternoons of Wednesday and Thursday.
However these won't be significant rain events, with Mr Levesque expecting around 5-10mm.
According to Weatherzone, the hottest day so far this year was January 21, where it reached a top of 38.2 degrees.
