Ella Warren has been crowned the Macleay Sportsperson of the Month for May and received a $100 voucher to the Kempsey Macleay RSL Club restaurant for his efforts.
Ella recently competed in a National Horse Show Riding event called Southern Cross Show Horse Spectacular.
Ella and her pony Yogi (Kenda Park Strauss) were sashed champion small show Hunter Pony, champion owner rider small show Hunter Pony, champion first ridden show Hunter Pony and runner up child's small show Hunter Pony.
This was very exciting considering she is only 11 and was competing against the best horse and rider combinations in Australia.
Ella trains with local horse riding coach Lisa Crotty at Lisa Crotty Riding Academy.
She said she owes a lot of her success to her coach, who also happens to be her Aunty.
This month, Ella also competed at the Lismore Hack Championship and Bellingen Show where she was awarded supreme open horse.

The Macleay Argus will determine the monthly and yearly winner of the award.
A sportsperson of the month will be decided upon in June 2021 with an additional voucher of $100 for the restaurant awarded to the winner.
