The cruel blow to Davis-Welsh was confirmed when she missed selection into the 21-woman squad on Tuesday afternoon, as Botille Vette-Welsh was named as her replacement.
Davis-Welsh is an Australian and New South Wales representative and if healthy, would be one of the first picked into the starting side.
Davis-Welsh signed with the Roosters earlier this year, after it was announced four NRL teams would contest for the first women's NRL premiership.
The 22-year-old representative player was signed as a marquee player.
