In a statement on the club’s Facebook page, the Cannonballs announced field one would be unsafe to play on.
“I would like to stress that the people involved in getting the grounds playable have been working tirelessly every single day to get it sorted but the weather and fill issues has not allowed this to happen,” Cannonballs secretary Brad Taylor said in the Facebook statement.
The Cannonballs contacted the clubs affected by the decision.
The men’s tournament of 24 teams will go ahead as planned with all games played on field two.
The action will commence at 8am.
Kempsey will be represented by two teams, the Kempsey Cannonballs and the Kempsey Cannonballs Indigenous side.
