After starting strong, Nulla let the game get away from them in a loss that Nulla's captain Ben Taylor found carried more of a sting than usual.
“It wasn't a nice loss because we were on top early and let it slip,” Taylor said.
A mistake and injuries plaguing the Nulla side saw the Magpies take advantage and run rampant to get a substantial lead.
“A dropped catch and a couple of injuries were capitalised on by their two batters with a big partnership, Taylor said.
“Once they consolidated they really outplayed us.”
It wasn't all bad though, several of the Nulla players shinned with strong performances in a tough played game.
“Mark Smee and Chris White had good solid all-around games. Dan Morrison was the pick of the bowlers,” Taylor said.
Despite the injuries, Taylor is making no excuses for the loss.
“We did miss the bowlers we had out and were injured in during the game, but I think both teams played under strength, so that is no excuse for us.”
Next Saturday will see the Nulla team face the Port Macquarie Pirates at South Kempsey where they will try to get a few more wins before the end of the season.
