The new Wednesday night social event costs $10, is open to everyone and aims to celebrate tennis through fresh, new game formats in an accommodating and commitment-free environment.
Kempsey Tennis Club is excited to launch the new social tennis offering and are looking forward to engaging with the local community to provide a fun, fitness alternative.
"Open Court Sessions is for anyone who has ever thought 'I love tennis', 'I used to play' or 'I want to play tennis again, I just don't have anyone to play with'" club president Ben Bailey said.
"Open Court Sessions is a solution that allows for all styles of play. For every level, for every age, for every person.
"Tennis is a much-loved sport in Australia and research has shown there are a huge number of ex-tennis players who would be keen to pick up a racquet again but haven't felt they could."
Open Court Sessions will be running every week at Kempsey Tennis Club; if necessary, the club can provide racquets and balls.
As an added bonus, the first Open Court Sessions event will include prizes for players who are getting sporty and social.
