Family and friends of David Dungay Junior, a Dunghutti man who died at Sydney's Long Bay jail on December 29, 2015 after he was forcibly removed from his cell, will gather in Kempsey on Saturday October 13 to perform a peaceful protest.
The family and friends will march from the Kempsey Library at 11am across town to the Kemspey Riverside Park to highlight their demand for justice.
The protest will coincide as a celebration of Mr Dungay’s life, who would have celebrated his 29th birthday on October 2.
Mr Dungay’s family had welcomed a coronial inquest into the death of their loved one, which was held in July, but they were left devastated when it was adjourned for eight months.
The decision to delay the completion of the coronial inquest forces the family to wait almost another year before they will receive answers.
