Four local teams, the Kempsey Cannonballs, the Kempsey Cannonballs Indigenous side, Kempsey Dingbats and the Kempsey Cannonballs women's side all gave impressive performances against the visitors.
"There was plenty of skill on show, and the preparation and hard work put in by the Cannonballs committee provided a great day for everyone involved," Kempsey Cannonballs Indigenous coach, Jared Fuller told the Argus.
Hamilton Hawks were victorious in the men's cup final while Logan Saints took the honours in the women's final.
On a positive note for the home side, the Cannonballs men's team were victorious in the Bowl Final taking victory over Evans Head. The women's team gained some valuable playing time, and the Dingbats proved to be a massive hit on and off the field.
The Kempsey Cannonballs Indigenous side also put on an impressive display that has Coach Fuller excited for the rest of the 2020 program.
"The player's performance over the weekend was an encouraging start to our 2020 seven's program," he said.
Everyone put in across the day and gave their all for the team.

"The team recorded comfortable victories in their pool matches against Wauchope Thunder and Evans Head to move through to the cup quarter-final against Coffs Snappers."
A solid win against Coffs Harbour saw the Cannonballs Indigenous side move through to the semi-finals to face Hamilton Hawks, last year's runner ups.
A see-sawing semi-final saw the Hawks take out the match 19-10.
"The players were disappointed, but we will take out so much experience from the day, especially considering four of our players had never played rugby seven's before," Fuller said.
"Everyone put in across the day and gave their all for the team.
"The squad will now focus on our next tournament, the Hamilton seven's on Saturday, February 15."
The club would like to thank all the volunteers who made the day possible and the two major sponsors, Crescent Head Country Club and NorEast Data.
